Two blog posts in three months? I'm really spoiling you.
I'm delighted to reveal - to those of you smart enough not to follow me on social media - that I have a new book coming out soon! Yes, this is the news I was alluding to in my last post. Well, it's *some* of the news. There might be other news later this year. Maybe. Hopefully.
In the meantime, bask in the glory of this fine book news, for I have again signed up with the very beautiful and not-at-all-Angry Robot team on my second book, SWASHBUCKLERS, which will be out in November later this year!
This book is a tricky one to describe, but I suppose if CAPTAIN MOXLEY AND THE EMBERS OF THE EMPIRE was all about my love for Indiana Jones, then SWASHBUCKLERS covers everything else. It's a little Ghostbusters, a hint of Goonies, a blended scoop of Gremlins, some The Dark is Rising, and unashamedly a whole lot of The Enchanted Wood. All mixed together in a big bowl of nostalgic love, while admitting that nostalgia is just as dangerous as it can be desirable.
Plus, it's about parents and parenting and how tricky and sad and wonderful it can be (especially if you're trying to save the world).
I hope you're going to like it. Despite being ridiculous, it's actually quite personal in a lot of ways. So it'll be fun and terrifying to see the reactions come in.
